Muse - Black Holes and Revelations

So I started listening to this album like two days ago and have probably heard the entire thing a good 10 times and like it just as much, if not more than I did initially. It’s kick ass. If you look at my Last.FM profile you can see my long streak of listening to Muse. Its like a nice new modern day Oasis (even though Oasis isn’t really not modern day). Its always nice finding a new band and also coming across a solid start to finish album. One that really doesn’t have any weaknesses. They bring a lot of different stuff to their core sound. Stuff ranging from violins and pianos on top of the soaring vocals and solid rock core. I highly recommend anyone listen to it, its fantastic stuff. I will probably switch over to another of their albums soon when I start working on more programming. I may get started on Pac-man, I have the core done on Tetris, I will probably post a link to the compiled thing when I finish polishing off the core, Ryan is going to do the AI, so I hope it works fine…

Back at the due

This will be long, so get a cold drink and get ready to relax.

I got back from my trip to Japan on Tuesday (two Tuesdays ago) the 11th. It was a long flight and it didn’t help that Kim’s mother basically gave me the cold shoulder for the entire trip. It was nice to get home and see my family. They were all there to meet me at the airport. I went back and promptly got changed to go with my dad to a dedication party at the new Colt’s Stadium. It is really impressive. Large, spacious, and it looks very nice. I forgot my ID though, so I was getting the free beer from family friends who offered their services, it was weird getting alcohol through third parties when I am legal. shrug

I worked for a few days after getting back, but stopped early because the hours were being cut and I didn’t want to take hours just for extra money from people who live off of the pay. Finishing up was odd though, it may be the last time I work at Target, after 4 years of it being my main place of employment. I will oddly miss it.

I focused on packing and getting things ready the next few days, all culminating into my shipping to Purdue yesterday. It was a surprisingly smooth move in. We came a day early and because of that, there were no crowds. I went and got the parking permit, moved everything up and we got the carpet laid down all fairly quickly. I then went out and had sushi with Kim and then dropped her off at her hotel. Then today I waited around putting stuff up in my room and waiting for Kim to call when she was going to move in, I offered to help and she said she was going to take me up on that offer. But instead I just found out they didn’t want my help and I guess I will talk to her tonight sometime. shrug So much for wasting a day around the dorm when i could have gone and visited friends.

Well so begins my final year of schooling. It’s been a long 16ish years of school thus far, but this final year is going to be different. Hopefully I will have time to keep updating this and possibly add on to the site, I have some ideas and have been working the code to make it easy to develop these ideas.

Overnights

I am switching to overnights starting tomorrow, meaning I work Sunday night to Thursday night 10:00 m to 6:30 AM going through the closed store setting new shelving sections with new layouts. I am making the move because they are offering full time hours and I get an extra $1.50 an hour, this adds up to about $200 dollars more per paycheck (before taxes) and I get to have the days open for things I want to do, I just have to throw any real normal sleep schedule out the window… It is exactly one month from today that I go to Japan, the highlight of my summer.

I went and watched Wall-E yesterday. The reviews are immensely positive and I have to say it is one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. It is incredible in every way. It draws emotion, it entertains, it conveys a message, and its fun for everyone. There were families in the theater, there were adults, there were couples, there were singles (I was one). The crowd erupted in applause at the conclusion, I was on the verge of tears. Pixar out did themselves yet again. They bring so much to the table and each time they top themselves the next time around. I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone, but if anyone wants to see it with me, I will gladly watch it again. It was incredible, I was in shock for hours after watching it. Go see it, if its the only movie you see all summer or not, it will be the best you see.
