Overnights

I am switching to overnights starting tomorrow, meaning I work Sunday night to Thursday night 10:00 m to 6:30 AM going through the closed store setting new shelving sections with new layouts. I am making the move because they are offering full time hours and I get an extra $1.50 an hour, this adds up to about $200 dollars more per paycheck (before taxes) and I get to have the days open for things I want to do, I just have to throw any real normal sleep schedule out the window… It is exactly one month from today that I go to Japan, the highlight of my summer.

I went and watched Wall-E yesterday. The reviews are immensely positive and I have to say it is one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. It is incredible in every way. It draws emotion, it entertains, it conveys a message, and its fun for everyone. There were families in the theater, there were adults, there were couples, there were singles (I was one). The crowd erupted in applause at the conclusion, I was on the verge of tears. Pixar out did themselves yet again. They bring so much to the table and each time they top themselves the next time around. I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone, but if anyone wants to see it with me, I will gladly watch it again. It was incredible, I was in shock for hours after watching it. Go see it, if its the only movie you see all summer or not, it will be the best you see.

Day in the Life

I have work in an hour, I think it’s in Electronics, I will be aiding in the mid day rush. Tomorrow I open and help with ad put up, it will be a busy morning, I hear Wii’s are going to be in the ad, which means we should have some in, so everyone will be rushing in to buy one. It’s been out for over a year and is still the hottest item out there. Its crazy. I ran all the pictures through the script, so they are all there now, there are a number that don’t generate thumbnails, I need to try and figure out why those particular pictures don’t, but I am at a loss, there is no real reason, I guess they just don’t copy. I am going to eventually get around to modifying the styling for all browsers, Opera will only be a handful of modifications, IE has a number I need to figure out because of it’s ignorance of inline blocks. And Safari is just a mess, it doesn’t even display the navbar correctly. sigh I just want to go to Japan, I really do nothing around here other than mess around on my computer and work. I will probably spend the two days I have off this coming week trying to pump out hunks of code for the site. Maybe get the poll running or add the extra stuff to the gallery. Or maybe I will just be burnt out and end up watching movies or tv all day shrug who knows…

New Entry

So I have been working hard at bettering the new round of code for this site. I have been learning foreign file uploading, since before, all things I did were through the samba shared drive of the files themselves. Now I can remotely upload files, specifically pictures or zip files, then run my handy dandy python script which will do all the maintenance of the albums, including unzipping a set of pictures.
